Overview
1974 Currawong 30 “Olive” – A Proven Australian Cruiser with Modern Upgrades
The Currawong 30 has long been regarded as one of Australia’s classic coastal cruising yachts. Designed by renowned naval architect Peter Joubert, these yachts have earned a loyal following thanks to their solid construction, balanced sailing performance and practical, comfortable layout. Easy to handle short-handed yet rewarding under sail, they’re equally at home exploring the Broadwater, cruising the coast or enjoying weekends away with family and friends.
“Olive” has benefited from thoughtful upgrades that make her stand out from many yachts of her era. The mast was removed, repainted and completely rewired in 2023, standing rigging was replaced in 2022, and she carries quality Doyle sails fitted in 2020. More recently, her electrical system has been modernised with lithium batteries, solar charging and updated electronics, giving the next owner the confidence of a well-sorted cruising yacht.
Last antifouled 15th January 2026 (Eco-Fleet)
Powered by a reliable Volvo Penta diesel and presented with many of the major maintenance items already completed, Olive represents excellent value for anyone looking for a capable, affordable yacht that’s ready to cast off and go sailing.
Inspections welcome by appointment only.
